Practice is concentrated exclusively in estate planning, business and tax areas. Qualified candidates will have 5 years of estate planning and/or corporate experience along with strong writing and case management skills. Missouri bar license required. Nationally recognized property tax appeal firm located in Chesterfield is seeking to add a full-time experienced paralegal to its in-house legal department.  The company represents hundreds of clients in reducing both their personal property and real estate tax assessments.  The position will provide administrative support to real estate analysts and legal professionals in their daily activities including tracking jurisdictional deadlines, processing receipt of legal documentation in a time sensitive manner, and updating a proprietary database with information for enhanced visibility across the organization.  Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to):  serve as a liaison between the legal, real estate, and appeal management teams; organize and track internal documents from multiple jurisdictions for important transactions or cases, including filing of appeals, receipt of decision notices, and other voluminous legal documents; update proprietary appeal management system; file appeals and other documents to various jurisdictions and state courts in an electronic ("e-filing") and physical format; coordinate and track responses to discovery requests, evidentiary exchanges, and other court deadlines; conduct routine audits of documents; coordinate and populate attorney calendars for court deadlines; and coordinate and track FOIA requests and responses.  Qualified candidates will have 5 + years of civil litigation experience.  Prior real estate experience strongly preferred.  This experience should include a good understanding of legal documents and experience in drafting legal correspondence and documents; practice experience and adeptness in updating information contained in databases and paper file management systems; and an ability to work in a high volume, deadline driven environment across multiple jurisdictions with the US.  Bachelor's Degree and paralegal certificate from ABA approved program or bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies required.  Candidates must have practical knowledge and technical skills with computer applications and software, including a strong knowledge of Adobe PDF, Microsoft Office Software such as Excel and Word, and working with digital files.  Competitive salary range.  Comprehensive benefit package incudes:  medical, dental, vision, life insurance; accidental death and dismemberment, LTD, 401(k), paid time off, and a predictable working schedule.  No travel.  Very little overtime (evening/weekend) work.  If interested, please e-mail resume/ref. as a Word attachment to jmacke@bamsl.org.

Caseload will have a heavy emphasis on personal injury and wrongful death matters stemming from FELA, railroad crossing collisions, trucking, and 1983/police abuse.
