Small 8 attorney workers' compensation defense firm located in Town & Country seeks an associate attorney. The position will handle workers' compensation defense claims on behalf of employers, insurers, and third-party administrators in Missouri and/or Illinois. The position would require assignments from partners to include: attendance at court hearings (in-person and virtual), depositions, out-of-state travel, and communication (primarily e-mails and transcription) to clients. Limited research and writing of briefs. Qualified candidates will have 2-4 years of experience in workers' compensation (plaintiff or defense), personal injury, or insurance defense litigation. Prior workers' compensation experience in Missouri and Illinois strongly preferred. Missouri and/or Illinois license required. Competitive salary range with bonus incentives. Sophisticated mid-sized Clayton firm seeks a full-time legal assistant for the firm's Business & Real Estate department. The legal assistant will provide comprehensive administrative support to attorneys specializing in business law, real estate transactions, and corporate matters. Responsibilities include: document preparation and management (assist in preparing, reviewing, and editing legal documents such as contracts, purchase agreements, leases, corporate governance documents); file management; transactional coordination (coordinate document management and administrative support for real estate closings, mergers and acquisitions, and other business transactions): correspondence; calendar management; regulatory filings; billing and time entry; and general administrative support. Qualified candidates will have 3-5 + years of experience as a legal assistant in the areas of business, real estate, or corporate transactions. This experience should include a basic understanding of corporate governance, real estate law, and general business transactions. Familiarity with entity formation and dissolution processes is a plus. Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and legal software applications (e.g., Clio, NetDocuments, or similar) required. Position will assist attorneys with real estate transactions, leasing, and general transactional corporate matters. Duties include (but are not limited to): drafting contracts, lease agreements, and closing documents; coordinating closing logistics; preparing closing checklists; overseeing execution and recording of documents; coordinating post-closing matters, including recording documents, wiring funds, organizing and indexing files and overseeing preparation of closing binders; and preparing and filing entity corporate organizational documents. Collegial Clayton business-oriented firm seeks a full-time commercial litigation paralegal to join their team. The paralegal's primary duties will include drafting and reviewing legal documents, case files, and subpoenas; conducting legal research; managing docketing; and assisting attorneys with trial preparation. Specific job functions include (but are not limited to): assists with all aspects of the discovery phase; reviews, analyzes and drafts discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, notices and other court pleadings and documents; identifies, calendars and complies with regulatory agency or court-imposed schedules and orders in accordance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations, including coordinating and negotiating scheduling of case events such as depositions and conferences; prepares affidavits, demand letters, or other documents, such as legal correspondence; organizes and maintains documents in the firm's electronic filing system; conducts research on the Internet and Westlaw; bates label documents and redact documents regarding sensitive information per attorney instructions with Adobe; and act as liaison to courthouses (telephone calls and visits to courthouse to obtain information). Qualified candidates will have 5 + years of civil litigation experience. This experience should include: knowledge of legal terminology; case management; knowledge of e-filing court documents with both State and Federal court systems including Case Net and Pacer; experience reviewing interrogatories; an understanding of the discovery process; experience in a courthouse (requesting court files and court documents, etc.); and a familiarity with billing requirements.
