Join BAMSL on June 10 for the Annual BAMSL Golf Outing!

The BAMSL Golf Outing allows BAMSL to show its appreciation to its members by focusing the event on fun, collegiality and of course, great prizes and giveaways. It also helps raise money for the St. Louis Bar Foundation, which supports numerous BAMSL charitable initiatives.

His induction as BAMSL President is a case in point. When he was approached a few years ago to join the executive committee, like most of us, he had a busy life with his own consulting firm, kids in high school (so many sports!) and of course the main grocery shopping and cooking responsibilities for the family. Because Kevin’s career hasn’t followed a typical civil, criminal, or corporate law path, he didn’t fit the traditional choice, but despite that, the nominating committee knew he would show up and do the work. That’s the kind of guy he is.

This is my first column as President of the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis. I’m honored and humbled to be serving during the 150th Anniversary of BAMSL. BAMSL has a long tradition of making St. Louis lawyers better and I consider it a sacred duty to uphold that legacy. On December 6, 2023, the U.S. Supreme Court heard oral argument, in Muldrow v. City of St. Louis, Mo., No. 22-193. The Supreme Court was asked to decide the narrow issue of whether Title VII prohibits job transfers that do not cause a “significant disadvantage” to workers.
