We are sorry to share the news of the passing of Past President Robert L. Proost on Tuesday, March 3. He served as BAMSL President from 1978-1979 as well as Saint Louis Bar Foundation President from 1977-1978.

This is an opportunity to meet and network with other solo and small firm members. Each attendee will order and pay for their own breakfast – there is no other cost to attend. Bring your business cards to pass around and be prepared to give a 1-minute introduction to your practice. There will also be a 10-minute presentation by someone at each meeting or a discussion on a topic of interest to everyone. The meeting takes place at the Original Pancake House at 8817 Ladue Rd., St. Louis, MO 63124.

The Twenty-Second Circuit Judicial Commission (city of St. Louis) is accepting applications for the associate circuit judge vacancy created by Governor Michael Kehoe’s appointment of Judge Catherine Dierker to fill the circuit judge vacancy created by the retirement of Judge David C. Mason. Applications, including Page 1 Confidential Information, will be accepted until 5 p.m. Friday, March 27, 2026, via e-mail only to 22ndJudicialCommission@courts.mo.gov. The e-mail’s subject line should reference the position (Dierker associate circuit vacancy) for which the applicant is applying.

In 1839, the construction of what St. Louis lawyers now call “The Old Courthouse” started. By the 1920s, the condition of The Old Courthouse had degraded badly. But the courthouse’s condition was not as big of an issue as its size. St. Louis was growing rapidly, despite the split from St. Louis County in 1877. Multiple entities turned their attention to a new courthouse, including a committee of the Board of Aldermen and a committee of the St. Louis Circuit Court En Banc.

Please join BAMSL in welcoming Renee Hilyard and Mega Emeje to the staff. Renee will work Mondays and Wednesdays while Mega will work Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Renee is currently a student at Maryville University.

Mega is a former SLIP intern who spent the summer of 2022 working at BAMSL. She is currently a student at St. Louis Community College.

We look forward to working with Renee and Mega and welcome them to the BAMSL team.

BAMSL's Bar Center was designed with our members in mind and we have multiple rooms that are available for their use: a conference room that seats 22 people, a boardroom that seats 10, and a single-person guest office. Room rentals are available during normal business hours, generally 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

BAMSL members may reserve rooms at no cost for law practice-related activities. Non-Members pay $325 for up to 4 hours or $600 for a full day.

This free CLE is available to volunteer attorneys wishing to serve pre-filing and post-filing clinic clients. It takes place this Friday, Feb. 27 from 12 Noon – 1:00 p.m. The CLE is being hosted virtually via WebEx by the United States Bankruptcy Court, Eastern District of Missouri.
