The Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis provides several association publications and communications media to keep members informed and up to date on Association activities. While designed to keep members informed on legal issues and practice trends, they also publicize association activities and events so it is easier for members to take full advantage of all Association programming. We believe being "in the loop” keeps members well connected.
Members receive 12 issues of the St. Louis Lawyer, our monthly magazine, as part of their annual dues. The St. Louis Lawyer offers a mix of association news, commentary, discussions of legal issues (ethics, pro bono, etc.), and lighter fare such as an occasional book review, travelogue, or office humor. Our "Hearsay” and "People & Places” sections help members keep track of promotions, awards, new hires and other legal news throughout the St. Louis area.
The St. Louis Bar Journal is a quarterly and more-scholarly publication that features specific legal topics in articles written by esteemed lawyers and judicial contributors. The St. Louis Bar Journal is a must read for keeping up on legal issues.
Members can view archived copies of the St. Louis Lawyer and the St. Louis Bar journal here.
Of course, right now, you’re also using another of our communication media – the BAMSL web site, which is full of helpful information, as well as functionality to look up activities and events, sign up for events, look up other members, and locate the full list of member benefits. Visitors can also discover who chairs a Section or Committee so they can get involved or network further.
On a weekly basis, members are sent an e-newsletter. It announces and reminds members of pending activities such as CLE courses, community service events, or social gatherings. In the case of urgent news, special emails are sent to members to inform them of important, breaking news.
Finally, in this day and age of the social media, we all like to keep connected. You’ll find BAMSL here as well:
