With employers struggling to find talent in a tight labor market, BAMSL's Legal Placement Service is a popular member benefit. Jennifer Macke, Esq., has been a legal recruiter and BAMSL's Director of Legal Placement since 2004. She knows the St. Louis legal community and uses her wide range of contacts to provide quality candidates. She has a proven record for successful permanent placements with solo practitioners, small to mid-sized firms, large firms, legal non-profit organizations and corporate legal departments. Confidential employment searches are offered.

BAMSL's Legal Placement is a member-only service. However, if you have one BAMSL member on staff, your organization is eligible to utilize this service. The fees for the service are modest and a flat placement fee is only owed if you end up hiring a BAMSL-referred candidate. There is never a fee to review resumes or interview candidates. All listings include free advertising of open positions on the BAMSL Web site ( and in the St. Louis Lawyer monthly magazine. In addition, some openings are featured in BAMSL's weekly e-newsletter and social media outlets.

While traditional legal secretary, paralegal, and attorney openings are Macke's areas of expertise, she also has filled legal receptionist, legal file clerk, legal investigator, legal administrator, legal nurse consultant and legal marketing positions over the years. She consistently has a pool of candidates seeking permanent part-time and full-time positions in all areas of the St. Louis metropolitan region, including South County, St. Charles County, West County, Jefferson County and the Metro East, in addition to downtown and Clayton.

Job seekers also reap the benefits of using BAMSL's Legal Placement Service. The service is free to individuals seeking permanent legal employment in the St. Louis area. All resume submissions are confidential. Plus, a resume will not be sent to an employer without the job seeker's permission. Some employers exclusively use this service as their only recruiting method. Meaning, BAMSL candidates have access to positions not listed on any other job board or made available to the public. Candidate resumes are sent directly to the hiring manager, avoiding the resume pile and recruiting portals which can hinder and frustrate a job seeker's search. View the current openings at

Potential candidates also have the advantage of using a professional legal recruiter for career guidance, resume review, salary strategy, and interviewing tips. Macke is always happy to speak with job seekers about current trends in the St. Louis legal market, give salary guidance or review a resume, all free of charge. Being an attorney herself, she specializes in legal resume preparation and personally understands the unique demands of legal practice.
