Join BAMSL on April 22 from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM for a Business Valuation Overview – When it comes to reading a business valuation report it can feel overwhelming.  Our goal is to provide an overview of the terminology used, understanding of the approaches and methods used, and a capitalization rate vs discount rate.  In the end will we bring everything together to reflect a high-level business valuation.

An Advanced Child Custody CLE for Family Law practitioners covering current issues in family law cases, which will cover family dynamics in dealing with cultural issues and sexual identity, parenting plans when dealing with substance abuse, mental health evaluations, ethical considerations in high conflict cases, alternative dispute resolution, therapeutic interventions, and the Guardian Ad Litem role.  Will qualify for Advanced Guardian Ad Litem training, Ethics, and Bias.

Join BAMSL's Well-Being Committee for the Cardinals 5K run/walk on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 8:30 a.m. The event will take place at Ballpark Village and Busch Stadium. This year the Cardinals will honor Willie McGee, a decorated member of the Cardinals organization. The proceeds of this event will go to the Cardinals Care Redbird Rookies Program, a free youth softball and baseball program.

This is a great opportunity to meet other members of BAMSL, attorneys, law students, pre-law students, and their families while participating in an event that promotes social, emotional, and physical well-being.

We will meet at Paddy O's at 7:45 a.m. on race day and walk to the start together (race begins at 8:30 a.m.).

The question of whether there is a likelihood of confusion between two marks is often not as black and white as we might like. There is plenty of room for disagreement. This interactive CLE on April 11 from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM CT will look at several cases where the issue of likelihood of confusion was decided by the Trademark Trial & Appeal Board in 2023. But before we review the TTAB’s decision, we want to know what you think!

The position of Term Law Clerk is a full-time position. This position duration is subject to a term time limit and the term begins the Fall 2024. It involves working for both Chief United States Magistrate Judge Shirley P. Mensah and Judge Noelle C. Collins (a 50% workload for each). The position is in St. Louis, MO.  

Principal duties of the position include: 

  • Research substantive issues of federal and state law
  • Draft legal memoranda, opinions and orders
  • Prepare the Judges for hearings, trials or mediations
  • Assist the Judges with case management
  • Generally, provide legal counsel and support to the Judges
  • Exhibit the highest standards of excellence and integrity
