BAMSL joined with several of the civil rights activists who were on the front lines of protest in 1964 when Lyndon Baines Johnson signed the 1964 Civil Rights Act, and they had protested segregated hiring practices of Jefferson Bank at Jefferson and Washington Avenues. The event was moderated by Julius Hunter, long-time St. Louis broadcaster. The panel was comprised of Frankie Muse Freeman, Norman R. Seay, and Percy Green, II. Our audience contained several local dignitaries and members of the local media too!
