On Monday, September 15, 2014, the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis will honor the lifetime achievements of Frankie Muse Freeman. We’re calling it the Frankie Muse Freeman Trailblazer Award Celebration to mark the 50th Anniversary of her being appointed as the first woman to the U. S. Civil Rights Commission. This appointment catapulted Freeman into even greater prominence in the civil rights movement as she had already earned by that time at staunch reputation for “getting things done.”
The event will start at 5:30 p.m. and run to 7:30 p.m. at Thompson Coburn LLP offices at 505 N. 7th Street, downtown. This is a free event for BAMSL members and we are working on having some additional distinguished guests. The Bar will also take this occasion to recognize our own Reuben Shelton and Pam Meanes as Missouri Bar president and NBA Association president, respectively.
Please plan to attend and be a part of a great new tradition and celebration.
