Mock Trial Competition

Missouri High School Mock Trial Competition

The Missouri High School Mock Trial Competition is the largest and most established program coordinated by BAMSL's Law-Related Education Resource Center. BAMSL's only statewide LRE program, it serves more than 600 students from more than 65 schools throughout Missouri.

During the summer, volunteer attorneys develop and write the mock trial case or problem for the regional and state competitions. After the case is completed, a manual is developed to help the students prepare for their mock trial by giving them an overview of the law, trial procedure and trial preparation. In December, an optional Mock Trial Training Seminar is held in St. Louis for all schools participating in the competition.

St. Louis Region
Trials will be held at St. Louis County Courthouse, 7900 Carondelet, Clayton, MO 63105 Round I Tuesday, January 22, 5:30-9 p.m. or Thursday, January 24 5:30-9 p.m. To view and print pairings click here for Excel or here for PDF.

Round II
Tuesday, February 19 5:30-9 p.m. or Thursday, February 21, 5:30-9 p.m.

Regional Tuesday, March 4 and Thursday, March 6 (5:30-9 p.m.)-all teams participating in regional competition will compete on both nights

Kansas City Region
Trials will be held at the Jackson County Courthouse, 415 E. 12th St., Kansas City, MO 64108

Rounds I & II Tuesday, January 15 & Thursday, January 17 Regional Tuesday, February 5 & Thursday, February 7 Lathrop & Gage Ozarks Regional Mock Trial Competition Trials will be held at Greene County Judicial Center at 940 Boonville Ave., Springfield, MO

All Rounds Thursday afternoon, February 14

Columbia/Jeff City Region All rounds will be held at Boone County Courthouse at 705 E. Walnut in Columbia, MO.

All Missouri Regions State All rounds for the State Championship Tournament will be held at the St. Charles County Courthouse at 300 N. Second St., St. Charles, MO. Friday, March 28, Saturday, March 29 & Sunday, March 30.
