Continuing Legal Education (CLE)
BAMSL sections and committees, in conjunction with the CLE Department and CLE Committee, offer nearly 100 seminars per year in a variety of formats (one-hour, full-day, multiple-day, live, webcast, and online on-demand) to meet the professional education needs of BAMSL members. While attendance is open to nonmembers, BAMSL members always receive a discounted registration rate. A calendar of CLE seminars is published monthly in the St. Louis Lawyer and on this website.

Fee Dispute Arbitration Service
Offered through the Committee on Resolution of Fee Disputes, this is a free service which relies on the volunteer efforts of both attorney and non-attorney panel members. Fee Recovery (Collections)

Lawyer Referral and Information Service (LRIS)
Operated under the direction of the LRIS Committee, the LRIS refers more than 11,000 clients per year to panel attorneys. More than $13 million in legal fees have been generated by LRIS-referred cases since the LRIS was reorganized in 1993. The annual panel application fee for BAMSL members is $100. For non-BAMSL members, the annual application fee is $395. All LRIS panel attorneys must agree to follow the LRIS Rules of Procedures and Operation. The BAMSL LRIS program is in compliance with Missouri Supreme Court Rule 4-10.1 of the Rules Governing the Missouri Bar and the Judiciary AND the ABA Model Rules for Lawyer Referral Services. We are proud to have served the St. Louis community for more than 75 years and to be among the first Lawyer Referral Services to be ABA compliant. Legal Placement Services
Attorney Placement Services are available to all BAMSL members seeking positions or seeking to fill a position. Member lawyers (or his or her firm, company, or agency) will be matched with pre-screened applicants for full-time, part-time, project, or contract lawyer positions at substantial savings in time, effort, and fees. The service runs the ads/announcements, reviews resumes, and pre-screens applicants. Only those meeting your specifications are referred. Verification of applicant education, licensure, references, and employment history are included in the fee, although BAMSL makes no representation as to any applicant's legal ability or competency.
Applicants may submit resumes free of charge. Employers pay the flat rates of $4,000 for full-time positions, $1,000 for part-time positions, and $1,000 for project or contract positions only if the position is filled with a candidate supplied through BAMSL. BAMSL's Support Staff Placement Services will match members or their firms, companies, or agencies with qualified, pre-screened and tested applicants to fill support staff positions including secretaries, receptionists, word processors, bookkeepers, legal administrators/office managers, and paralegals.
With flat rates of $2,000 and $1,000 for full- and part-time positions, respectively (payable by the employer), one use of this member benefit will save you many times one year's membership dues when compared to rates charged by commercial placement services. Point of View Restaurant
Patty Long Catering provides restaurant and catering services at BAMSL Headquarters on the 30th floor of the Laclede Gas Building at 720 Olive St. in downtown St. Louis. The former Lawyers Club now operates under the name "Point of View" and offers lunch service for BAMSL members and the general public from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. Patty Long's Catering will also provide food service for all BAMSL meetings, CLEs, and other events at the Point of View and the Bryan Cave Conference Center. The facilities of the entire 30th floor are available for private events such as meetings, rehearsal dinners and weddings during the day, in the evenings and on weekends with catering provided for Patty Long.  BAMSL keeps the line of communication open with its members through its Website, a weekly e-mail newsletter, and its two official publications. St. Louis Lawyer Magazine is a monthly magazine that keeps members up-to-date on Bar news, hot topics in the law, association events, programs and meetings, and members’ achievements, and includes advertisements for products and services of interest to Bar members. The St. Louis Bar Journal, published continuously since 1950, is the Bar Association's showcase publication, and one of the most respected legal journals in the nation. Published quarterly, the Bar Journal contains a wide range of articles covering everything from law office technology to professionalism and pro bono work.
Real Estate Forms
